This is the first church you see after leaving São Bento’s railway station. It catches your attention due to the impressive front tiles by Jorge Colaço. Inside there’s more to see: stained-glass windows by Robert Leóne, the mural paintings by Aécio Lino, and the church pipe organ.

This beautiful palace from 1759 and its gardens are the scenario for a rural fair taking place until tomorrow.

This year the city commemorates the tower's 250 years. In 1763 the whole ensemble was completed (church, infirmary and tower), following the lines of Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni. Many consider the tower the ex libris of the city. This year, exceptionally, night visits are being prepared.

We told you we were busy last weekend, during international museum day. Here's our first stop: St. Laurence's church and convent, built by the Jesuits in 1577. You would't believe the precious details inside that only those who know can appreciate. Yep, that's us.
